DLT Compliance (India)

Thank you for visiting sms.boney.in. To use SMS services via sms.boney.in, you must complete the following:

1. Principal Entity (PE) Registration
• Register your business on any operator DLT portal (SmartPing, Airtel, Jio, Vi, BSNL).
• Submit documents:
- PAN Card
- GST / Business Proof
- Authorization Letter

2. Sender ID (Header) Approval
• Register your SMS Header (Sender Name)
• Header must match your business identity
• Example: BONEYX
• As per new TRAI rules:
Headers now include suffixes:
- P (Promotional)
- S (Service)
- T (Transactional)

3. Message Template Registration
• Every SMS must have a pre-approved template
• Types:
- Transactional (OTP, alerts)
- Service (updates)
- Promotional (marketing)
Without template approval, SMS will fail.

4. Mandatory Variable Tagging (2026 Update)
• All SMS templates must follow variable tagging rules:
• Examples:
{#numeric#} → OTP, amount
{#alphanumeric#} → Order ID
{#url#} → Website link
{#email#} → Email ID
• Only approved data types are allowed in variables. Non-compliant templates will be rejected.

5. Content & Consent Compliance
• Content Template → actual SMS message (mandatory for all)
• Consent Template → required for promotional messages
- You must take user consent before sending marketing SMS.

6. URL & Number Whitelisting
• All links, numbers, emails must be pre-approved on DLT
• Only whitelisted URLs can be used in SMS
- Non-whitelisted links will cause message failure.

7. Time Restrictions
• Promotional SMS: 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM
• Transactional SMS: 24x7 allowed

Penalties for Non-Compliance
Failure to follow DLT rules may result in:
• SMS blocking or failure
• Fines up to ₹2,75,000
• Blacklisting of sender ID
• Suspension of SMS services
